Museums and Fashion
As you already know, I love museums. And I also love fashion.
When I get to combine my love for fashion and museums, things get super exciting. The Phoenix Art Museum’s 50 Years of Fashion did just that. With the most beautiful displays and fascinating history, this exhibit was wonderful.
This dress is incredibly elegant, yet classic.
So many of the items I saw in this exhibit I would definitely wear today! The beautiful pieces that these designers created were so inspiring. From Alexander McQueen, to Chanel, to a number I had never heard of, this exhibit really ignited a fire in me to learn more about fashion’s history.
It would be such a dream to wear this on a night out. How gorgeous is that velvet bodice?!
This Chanel flapper dress was one of my favorites.
The variety of pieces in this exhibit gave a really nice overview of the evolution of fashion across the eras.
How different is this soldier’s outfit is from those of today?!
Artist Ruben Toledo created the stunning illustrations that brought the beautiful clothing to life.
I wish he could come and decorate my walls at home!
Sequins and ostrich feathers – yes, please!
This art was so stunning.
And of course, the shoes.
I highly recommend visiting this exhibit if you’re in the Phoenix area. You can quickly pop in and out, or you can spend a great deal of time perusing the different pieces and their stories that together create a great display of the evolution of fashion.
