We all need a little pampering sometimes.

But what we really need is the pampering without the guilt. You should never feel bad for treating yourself to a deserved break or little gift.

If you’re like a lot of the ladies I know, you are killin’ it at life. Working hard, balancing a ton of different things, always striving to improve yourself — you get the picture.

I am definitely one of those people that feels guilty treating myself sometimes. I think that I should save the money, spend it on something more responsible.

But what I am starting to realize is that PAMPERING YOURSELF IS BEING RESPONSIBLE. Forcing yourself to take a break is needed, and without a little bit of pampering, you may just crack.

Pampering can mean whatever you want it to. It can be a candlelit bath with just you and your book. It can be an hour-long massage at the spa. It can even be giving yourself the time to go try that barre class you felt was a bit too expensive.

Whatever it is, carve out some time in your schedule to do it.

I don’t care how busy you are. Spending time on you is SO KEY to your happiness and everything else.

I will seriously put on my Google Calendar (post to come about that later because OH MAN is it a lifesaver!) “Leslie time.”

That can mean whatever I feel like that day, but I pencil myself into my schedule to make sure I actually get that needed pamper-time in.

(Last weekend, my “Leslie time” session was me painting my nails while watching Big Little Lies — can we talk about how AMAZING that show is?!)

Here are some of my favorite things to pamper myself with:

  • Facial — Every time I get one I swear to myself I need to get them more. A clean face = a happy Leslie.
  • Baking
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Wearing a fave outfit for no reason
  • Epsom salt bath
  • Painting nails + Netflix
  • Traveling

Obviously the list needs to be longer, but I am just getting started with this.

What are your favorite pampering activities/gifts? Would love to hear how you guys pamper yourselves 🙂

Girl, YES to all of this – especially to facials, baths, massages, Netflix, and travel. Getting inspired and reinvigorated comes from taking good care of yourself – RESTING. It takes a brave girl to stop and recognize the importance. xoxo

I don’t do this enough. In fact I can’t remember the last pampering thing I’ve done. Sigh.

Well you better get out there and do it, girl! Seriously, I’m OCD so I have to schedule it in, or it won’t happen. xx

I decided to start something new with myself… to ‘date’ myself. ie, do all the things I’d want a significant other to do for me! Think: buy me flowers on a Sunday morning at the farmer’s market and make a really yummy brunch. Beach picnic, an evening sunset bike ride. Dinner at a fancy restaurant (alone!) Buying really luxurious hand-cream (cause let’s be honest, no man will probably ever buy that for me anyway). I love this post and couldn’t agree more ** time to pamper!

Oh I LOVE this, Tawney! I am definitely going to follow you on this idea. I certainly don’t have any luxurious hand cream, so I think I’ll go buy myself some 🙂
