Copy Girl

My writing and editing business, Copy Girl, though just a few months old, has already taken me on so many wonderful adventures (both physically and mentally) and has introduced me to some truly wonderful people. I have learned so much and love that every day I learn something new about the industry, and about myself.

The amount of self-growth that has occurred over the past few months as a result of Copy Girl is possibly the most exciting part of my business.

I am incredibly thankful every day that this is what I get to do.

I was listening to a podcast the other day and heard some great advice. Though quite simple, I loved the bluntness of it and am working towards 100% adopting this idea: STOP DOING SHIT YOU HATE. I’m about 75% there, and I think we should all strive to 100% do what we like (with realistic ideas of what that means – obviously no one likes having to wash your face and brush your teeth when you honestly just want to pass out on the couch in front of Netflix.)

It’s so cliche, but life is short, guys. You shouldn’t spend your time being totally miserable in an awful job.

It takes a ton of hustle and you’re certainly going to hit some road blocks and definitely going to have to deal with some failures , but you can work towards creating a life that you actually enjoy.

You aren’t obligated to be miserable.

And the excuse that “well that person has more x than me” or “that person is more y than me” isn’t going to cut it.

There is always going to be someone better off than you, and there is always going to be someone worse off than you.

Rather than constantly comparing yourself to others, JUST BE THE BEST YOU.

And in honor of that mantra, apparently the best me includes writing for a camping/outdoors blog (who would have ever thought?). KOA just announced their top posts for 2016 and my “9 National Parks to Visit in the Fall,” was one of them! I am looking forward to writing more for them in the coming year, as well as many others!

So, instead of making excuses as to why you aren’t doing what you want to be doing, start making lists of the little steps you can take right now to work towards doing what you want.

I really don’t want to sugar-coat it – it is going to be hard.

But isn’t a happy life worth the extra effort?

Stop doing shit you hate, guys, and start loving your life.
