I know I sound like a broken record: I’ve been so crazy busy physically and mentally that my blogging has (yet again) been pushed to the bottom of the list. If you only knew how much this really bothers me.
I started out as a way to share pictures of my travels when Reed and I set out for our adventures overseas. Then, when my travels were no longer happening daily, but rather more rarely, this site morphed into more of a lifestyle blog where I shared my thoughts on some bigger-picture ideas. And now, I’m ready to add a little twist yet again.
I love writing about big-picture ideas such as loving yourself and being present, but I lately have been craving writing about more “friendly” things ( I’m not a huge fan of the word “casual”), day-to-day life that may not be as deeply insightful.

I strive to find joy in the small things, and feel I’m fairly good at doing so. However, I don’t always share those things with you guys because they aren’t part of some grand idea, or grand statement. And that’s where I feel I’m going wrong, as being in that mindset is what’s causing me to only post about once a month.
While I will still share with you those profound realizations (on the rare occasion that my brain recognizes them), I want to also share with you the smaller things that make up my life. Because, let’s be honest here, guys — life isn’t always profound. Life is made up of rare ah-ha! moments, but life is truly in the small details. And those details aren’t always hyper-deep. Plus, there are some exciting things that will be happening over the next few months/year and I want to be able to share with you the small steps along the way.
So here begins a more laid-back approach to life through the eyes of Leslie K. Hughes. Hope you enjoy!

Love it and need it! We all need reminders that those little small mundane moments are really the profound ones. One of my favorite horrible bumper stickers is “If you’re not in awe, you’re not paying attention.”

I have not seen that bumper sticker, but LOVE it. Such wise words! Here’s to an awe-worthy life! 🙂 xo

Great looking site. Think you did a bunch of your very own html coding.
