Drastically different climate means totally new skincare routine. I have a minor obsession with trying new skincare/beauty products, and Lisbon fully supports this habit with it’s wonderful corner pharmacies housing skincare products galore. After great deliberation, this is what I came away with that I am so excited to try. Most of the items are La Roche-Posay, as it is a line I have wanted to try forever but is nearly impossible to find anywhere in the States.

1. Bioderma Photoderm MAX SPF 50+ : With skin as fair as mine, it is an absolute necessity for me to have high-powered sunscreen. However, I also have sensitive skin, so I need a sunscreen that is a bit more special than the sunscreen I use on the rest of my body. This Bioderma sunscreen seems to be the perfect combination of both. I was going to get the tinted version in order to sometimes be able to skip the foundation step in my makeup routine (the heat and humidity here can be more intense than I’m used to) but Portugal’s idea of “light” is still about 50 shades darker than me. So, I purchased the non-tinted version in the highest SPF possible.

2. La Roche-Posay Ultrafine Scrub : I have been on the hunt for a really good exfoliant that doesn’t dry out my skin and this hopefully will fit that bill.

3. La Roche-Posay Soothing Rehydrating Mask : Even though Portugal is hot and humid, my skin is still quite dry, so I got these masks to use post-exfoliating.

4. La Roche-Posay Hydrating Creme : I am making my way to the bottom of my Clarins HydraQuench Cream and honestly was not too impressed with it. I absolutely love the smell of it – so fresh and clean, but I did not feel like it was nearly as hydrating as I hoped it would be. So, I decided to try the La Roche-Posay creme that feels as if it will give me the hydration my thirsty skin needs.

I will revisit these products after I’ve used them for a while to give my reviews!

Anxious to get an update on your La Roche-Posay skin care. I’m always ready to try something new and imagine those would be very good. (It is generally thought that European products use less chemicals, right?)

So far, so good. I’m going to give it a bit more time before I say for sure, but I will keep you posted!
